The delegation of the Stavropol Territory headed by Governor Vladimir Vladimirov took part in the XXVIII Russian agro-industrial exhibition "Golden Autumn"

The delegation of the Stavropol Territory headed by Governor Vladimir Vladimirov took part in the XXVIII Russian agro-industrial exhibition "Golden Autumn". The central event of the forum was the plenary session “Navigator of the Russian Agro-Industrial Complex: Technologies for Efficient Growth”, which was welcomed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
According to preliminary estimates, the Food Security Doctrine is being implemented as consistently as it was a year earlier. He reported gains in fish farming, pork and egg production, as well as more wheat, rapeseed and fruit harvested than last year. Speaking about the difficulties of the season, Mikhail Mishustin mentioned problems with fuel and cargo logistics.
The President supported the initiative to assist agricultural producers in selling grain, including the decision to purchase it as a reserve. The government has also taken a number of measures. First of all, additional subsidies were allocated for rail transportation. And in the near future, we will consider the extension of lending for farmers for up to one year, the press service of the head of the region quotes the Prime Minister.
The main report on the prospects for the development of domestic agriculture was made by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut.
Stavropol is betting on domestic seeds
In his speech, Vladimir Vladimirov focused on the agrarian potential of the region. One of the key areas he called import substitution and increasing the share of seeds of domestic selection.
Over the past three years, the share of domestic seeds in sunflower crops in the region has increased to 65.6%, sugar beet - to 14.4%, soybeans - to 81.6%. For winter grains, almost 100% of seeds are domestic selection. Until 2030, it is planned to increase the production of seed material of sugar beet to 1.6 thousand tons, sunflower to 8.6 thousand tons.
Combating desertification and developing land reclamation
Separately, the head of the region touched upon the proposals of the State Council commission headed by him in the direction of “Agriculture”. These include combating desertification and land degradation. Vladimirov noted that in many regions the main deterrent is protective forest planting, created in the middle of the last century.
“The restoration of existing and, in some cases, the creation of new forest belts is a large-scale task that requires a systematic approach. Today in the Russian Federation there is practically no full production cycle of planting material for agroforestry. It is necessary to form a system of nurseries of forest crops that will grow trees and shrubs of a new generation - adapted to drought and resistant to disease, the governor stressed.
Speaking about land reclamation, Vladimir Vladimirov reported on the work to increase the area of irrigation and reconstruction of the water sector. For the effective functioning of the reclamation system, it is necessary to improve the reliability of water supply for irrigation needs. This region needs support from the federal government.
The report also raised issues of increasing the efficiency of agricultural land use and technological modernization of the industry. All proposals will be worked out, including at the State Council commission on agriculture.
