Foreign participants of the International Youth Festival proposed to hold an annual Arctic Nomadic Festival in Yamal

Foreign participants of the International Youth Festival proposed to hold an annual Arctic Nomadic Festival in Yamal. As reported in the press service of the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the concept at a meeting with Governor Dmitry Artyukhov was presented by Li Ji Shin from Malaysia and Hawa Sharif from Tanzania. The starting point of the route should be Salekhard.
The festival will be held in four locations. On the Harbey Canyon, tourists will be offered to collect wildflowers, on Lake Hadataeganlor - to fish, on the Glacier of Romantics - to get acquainted with the nature of the North, and in the valley of the Rai-Iz massif - to cook dishes at the hearths of reindeer herders.
The guys spent only a few days in Yamal, but the proposals for the development of tourism, which were voiced today, turned out to be deep and meaningful. Such ideas are very valuable for us – for the region, which in the near future relies on the development of tourism, said Dmitry Artyukhov.
Other participants cited the northern lights and the culture of the indigenous peoples of the North as the main points of attraction. Among the proposals are a single platform for booking turnkey tours, promotion in foreign social networks, duplication of street names in English and adaptation of hotels for foreign guests.
On September 19, the regional program of the International Youth Festival began in Salekhard. It was attended by 25 young people from 17 countries. Expedition “Rediscover Russia” will end on September 23.
