A foreigner robbed a friend, not suspecting that video surveillance cameras were installed at the house of a Minsk woman

A criminal case was sent to the court against a 37-year-old previously unconvicted foreigner who is accused of committing theft, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency was told in the Zavodsk district prosecutor's office.

The accused arrived in Minsk a few months ago and later planned to travel to the European Union. On the Internet, a foreigner met a woman. For a while, they texted, and then agreed to drink coffee together.

After the date, their communication continued. A new friend invited a foreigner to her birthday. There were other guests, her daughter and her boyfriend. The company was drinking. At some point, the defendant noticed how the owner of the house hides a wallet in the closet, and decided to take advantage of this.

Left alone in the room, the attacker took 450 BYN from someone else’s wallet and took it. Later, he spent the money on personal needs.

However, the accused could not even think that security cameras were installed in his friend's house. One of them recorded the fact of theft of cash.

Since the foreigner did not voluntarily return the money, the Minsk woman applied to the police. A criminal case has been opened against an unclean man.

- The accused was not previously brought to criminal responsibility, commented Deputy Prosecutor of the Zavodsky district Alexander Sazonchik. He was charged with secret theft of property (theft), that is, with committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code, the sanction of which is up to three years in prison. The citizen fully admitted his guilt, repented of what he had done. A preventive measure of detention was applied against him.
