They say mathematics is either loved or feared. Denis Dubanevich from Smolevichy Secondary School No. 5 joined the first camp in elementary school, having decided all the Olympiad collections. He decided on his profession when on the day of self-government he entered the class with the leather folder of his older brother-teacher. Today, he has almost 18 years of experience, dozens of conference winners and several stobalniks. Recently, he was named Teacher of the Year.

The secret to trusting the class, he said, begins with change: “Accommodating, smiling people are ready for math.” If the kids are discussing a physics test, he sorts out the solution with them, offering a mathematical perspective.

Denis Dubanevich is sure that a mistake is not a cause for fear. If the child finds a defect on the board, the teacher gives him 9-10 points. Sometimes specially makes tests with a catch so that children look for a miss. “If you scold for every mistake, we get only fear and rejection,” he explains. The principle of the teacher’s work is simple: “A student is first and foremost a person.” Interview-alphabet with teacher of the year read in the material of journalist Valeria Kurnevich.

♦ In Belarus, every fifth child is covered by benefits, for the financing of which 4.1 billion rubles were allocated in 2026 (in 2025 - 3.7 billion). Support for children and their parents is one of the most important priorities of the state.

Mushroom season in Belarus is excitement and unspoken rules. Marina Golodko from Brest shares secrets. “I like to go to the forest alone – it’s excitement: find yourself, cut,” she says.

Landmarks: overgrown grass is a sign of podulinoviki and oils, foam - in old stumps, foxes - in birch. The best time is after rain, after a couple of days when it is warm at night.

It is almost impossible to damage the mushroom, because it lives deep, wide, Marina is sure:

- Cut or twist, it doesn't matter. The key is not to litter. I will always take the candy paper with me. I'm sure the forest reciprocates. There were days when everyone went around with empty baskets and I found mushrooms.

The heroine of the publication explains how to put mushrooms in a basket:

- When gathering, care is important. Podberezovychy and poduzinovyh always put on top: they are soft and easily crumpled. Oils and greens grow next to each other, but it is better to keep the greenery separately - the sand spoils the oil.

About how to choose the right direction, which trees to focus on and what time is ideal for quiet hunting, the mushroom picker told the journalist Janina Protasevich in detail. No tourist trip in the country is complete without acquaintance with objects of history or culture. There are almost 5.7 thousand such iconic places in Belarus, which are paid close attention by the state. That is how much is in the State list of historical and cultural values of our country.

Deputy Head of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage Irina Voronovich says that our country is now associated with castles among foreign tourists.

- At one time there were more than 150 different manors and castles in Belarus. Of course, today, for objective reasons, there is no such number, and those that have survived are in different states. At the same time, serious work is being carried out on their restoration, restoration, reconstruction, which is a priority in the field of culture. This happens within the framework of state and investment programs, with the personal support of Alexander Lukashenko, since regular repair and restoration work is financed from the funds of the President of Belarus Fund for the Support of Culture and Art. There's a lot of money to channel. Thus, in the State list of historical and cultural values there are 5696 objects, in which the most architectural monuments are 1843. There are also monuments of urban planning, history, archeology, art, protected places and others. As the restoration of objects of historical and cultural heritage contributes to the growth of tourist flows, the journalist Maria Druk found out. And Ivan Valuev will tell readers how Mir Castle develops tourist potential through excursion programs, cooking according to princely recipes, music festivals, an Italian garden. Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Ivan Krupko is confident that this year will go down in the history of the region as one of the most productive.

The region confidently threshed 1.15 million tons of grain of spike and rapeseed oil. Moreover, in rapeseed, we exceeded the level of last year by 73.2 thousand tons, or twice. The average yield of oilseeds amounted to 21.9 centners per hectare, and the gross harvest was the highest in history - 144.4 thousand tons, which is twice higher than the level of 2025. Corn for grain is planned to be removed from the area of 63 thousand hectares - almost at the level of last year.

Ivan Krupko told how the agro-industrial complex of the region adapts to the changing climate:

- This is a daily reality for our region. Judge for yourself: the anomalous May drought is replaced by frosts, June and July torrential rains - arid August, and the beginning of autumn again brings sharp temperature changes. In conditions when the old methods cease to work, shifting the focus to winter barley is a calibrated strategy. Domestic varieties have been introduced that can perfectly overwinter. As for herbs: capricious clover likes coolness, in drought its yield falls. Alfalfa is a real “camel” of the plant world. Its powerful root system goes deep, extracting water where the clover dries. It gives stable 3-4 pricks per season, is rich in protein and resistant to heat.
