The history of the Great Patriotic War is the foundation of the unity of the two countries. This opinion today, October 8, shared the Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko at the opening of the Youth Forum of the Union State “Memory”. Choice. Responsibility" in the Museum of Glory of Mogilev, reports sb.by.

Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko greeted the participants on Mogilev land and stressed that it is rich in history and reverent attitude to the memory of generations:
- Today we open the Youth Forum “Memory”. Choice. Responsibility”. Its name sounds like an important moral reference point: in these words – a deep meaning, addressed primarily to the younger generation.
Anatoly Isachenko stressed that the forum participants are a force that fills the Union integration with living content. Their ideas, projects, discussions and joint initiatives contribute to strengthening the partnership between peoples.
- When we talk about the Union State, we do not mean only political agreements or the economy. We are talking primarily about spiritual kinship. The history of the Great Patriotic War is the foundation of our unity.

- Today, decades later, young people face an equally important task. The new generation will have to develop our common space, create innovations, and write the modern history of the country. But remember: it is impossible to confidently go into the future if you do not know where you came from and at what cost you got the opportunity to live, learn and create.
There is a serious struggle for historical truth in the world: attempts are being made to rewrite history, to belittle the feat of our ancestors, to erase the memory of what united us in the most difficult times. This is a real challenge, the answer to which is participation in such events, Anatoly Isachenko is sure:
- Being a patriot does not mean talking loudly about love for the country. This means making a conscious choice every day in favor of the development of your region, your country, and working for the common good. Today, young people have wide opportunities in education, science and culture. But with opportunity comes a responsibility – and above all, to ensure that the truth about war is passed on to the next generations.

The Youth Forum in Mogilev brought together more than 100 participants – students, undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as young teachers of history and social disciplines. They discuss topical issues of history and the modern agenda. The forum contributes to strengthening friendship between Belarus and Russia, preserving common historical memory and implementing a joint youth policy. It is based on patriotic education.
