The results of the contest “Blooming city” summed up in Cherepovets

The day before in the Palace of Metallurgists summed up the results of the contest "Blooming City". In Cherepovets, the event was held for the 15th time. Participation was taken by enterprises, institutions, local residents, who decorated the city with flowers with their own hands during the summer.

A total of 480 applications, 200 objects with unique floral decoration, 57 new locations in the nomination “Flowers of Friendship”, which was held for the first time in honor of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, were considered.

The Grand Prix of the competition was rightfully taken by the residents of the house No23 on Sheksninsky Prospekt. They take care of their yard for the third year in a row. The victory was won in the nomination “Best floral decoration of the territory of the homeowners’ association”. Unusual plants are grown here and floral compositions are created. The awards were presented by the head of the city Andrei Nakroshaev.

In addition to the competition in Cherepovets planted this year more than 400 thousand annual flowers on 60 flowerbeds. It was the first time we planted roses. About five thousand shrubs and trees were also planted. They began to plant red-book plants - rare winter lovers and Venus shoes. By spring, 70,000 tulip bulbs have been prepared in the central squares.
