Due to the suction of ticks in medical institutions turned 1480 Volgograd residents
Specialists of the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Volgograd region continue to monitor statistics on tick bites and the spread of infections they carry. As of October 9, 2026, 1,480 appeals to medical institutions due to tick suction were recorded, including 519 to children.

During the current epidemic season, 6 diseases of ixodic tick-borne borreliosis and 3 cases of Crimean hemorrhagic fever were laboratory confirmed. Most often, infection occurs after the bite of an infected tick, but do not forget about the contact mechanism of transmission: the virus can enter the body if, for example, crush the tick and then touch the mucous membranes.
For prevention, it is necessary to adhere to simple but effective rules. Choose for walks in a potentially dangerous area light clothing made of “breathing” fabrics: a long-sleeved shirt and pants. It is recommended to tuck pants into socks, put rubber bands on the sleeves, and protect the head with a headdress. Use repellents against ticks, strictly following the instructions on the package. In the forest, move along the designated trails, avoid areas with dense vegetation. If you plan to relax in nature, do not sit on the ground - use a tarp. Pay special attention to inspection: regularly check yourself, your clothes, equipment and pets for the presence of parasites. Before entering the house, conduct a thorough inspection - this will help to detect the tick in time.
