Famous actress charged for flight-related incident: decided to bite everyone around
Actress Selma Blair faces two assault charges after incident on flight from Los Angeles to New York

American actress Selma Blair has been arrested after allegedly biting a flight attendant on board a flight en route from Los Angeles to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. After her arrest, she allegedly kicked a police officer and a nurse and faces two charges of assault.
According to the Port Authority Police Department, two flight attendants reported injuries during the flight, and one of them was taken to hospital after the incident. According to a law enforcement source, one of the flight attendants was bitten and the other received a laceration wound. Her lawyer said Blair faced "emergency medical care" on the plane, but did not elaborate. Blair has spoken candidly about her battle with multiple sclerosis.
The incident occurred on Delta Air Lines Flight 938. According to a law enforcement source, the flight crew had to detain Blair. On the air traffic control audio, the pilot could be heard calling medical personnel to the plane.
"There's a broken nose and a few bite marks, so I don't think we need an ambulance or anything like that, but it's better to call the medics to the landing gate to examine the injuries," the audio read. “It looks like the naughty passenger also hit her head on a bulkhead or something, so we’re obviously going to have to check on her and also go to law enforcement.”.
Port Authority police and the FBI were called on board. After the incident, Blair was taken to hospital for examination. According to prosecutors, while in the ambulance, she allegedly kicked a police officer, and in the hospital allegedly attacked a nurse.
Blair was later discharged from hospital and taken to Queens Central Hospital, after which she was charged with two counts of second-degree assault in Queens Court, where she pleaded not guilty. The judge granted her $20,000 in cash bail and scheduled her next hearing for January 19, 2027.
This is not the first time Blair has been taken off a flight. In 2016, she was carried away on a stretcher after the incident. As for what is alleged to have happened now, the FBI has sent her a subpoena in connection with attacks within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States.
"Delta is absolutely intolerant of undisciplined or unlawful behaviour as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first," the airline said in a statement. Blair was traveling with her dog, who is now in the care of her lawyer.
Earlier, the actress spoke about her struggle with multiple sclerosis. In 2025, she gave interviews to magazines in which she stated the difficulties she faced while traveling, and her memoir for 2022 also has a chapter titled, where she wrote about past cases of biting other celebrities while drinking. Blair starred in such films as “Cruel Intent”, “Blonde in law”, “Hellboy” and others, and in 2022 participated in the show “Dancing with the Stars”.
