The State Labor Inspectorate in the Kaliningrad region announced a warning to Kaliningrad-Gortrans JSC in connection with the observance of the labor rights of pregnant employees. This is stated on the website of the Prosecutor General’s office.
The reason was the appeal of the citizen. In the warning, the inspectorate recalled that the employer is obliged, at the request of a pregnant woman and in the presence of a medical opinion, to reduce the standards of production or maintenance for her or transfer to another job that excludes the impact of adverse production factors. At the same time, the average salary should be retained for the employee.
If a suitable job has not yet been provided, the employer is obliged to release the woman from her previous duties while maintaining the average earnings for all missed working days at her own expense.
The warning was announced on November 6. The inspectorate pointed to the requirements of Article 254 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, which regulates guarantees for pregnant women at work.
