KalmSU initiated the creation of the Caspian campus

On October 9-10, the XXVIII General Assembly of the Association of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian States was held in Aktau. The forum was attended by B.B. Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University.

Representatives of the main university of Kalmykia proposed a number of initiatives aimed at strengthening scientific and educational cooperation in the region. The central idea was the creation of a network “Caspian campus”, which will combine joint educational programs, academic exchange of students and the practice of double diplomas. KalmSU expressed its readiness to act as a flagship university of this project.

In addition, the university proposed to establish an association scholarship for young researchers, to form a unified system of environmental monitoring of the Caspian Sea and to train specialists in ecology and water resources protection. Special attention is paid to the development of cultural dialogue between the countries through festivals, student exchanges and the study of the languages of the region.

A logical continuation of the cooperation will be the forum, which will be held in Elista at the site of Kalmyk State University.
