Kalmyk scientists lay the foundation for the future harvest of fodder crops

In Kalmykia, the autumn sowing campaign is being completed at the Baga-Chonos experimental farm. The work is carried out by specialists of the Kalmyk Research Institute of Agriculture, which is a branch of B. B. Gorodovikov Kalm State University.

On an area of 85 hectares, soil cultivation has already been carried out and rye and triticale crops have been planted. These cultures are not chosen by chance. They will be the basis for basic and applied research. Scientists intend to obtain high-quality forage herbs that will be used in the hay season of 2027.

The main feature of the current campaign was active scientific and practical interaction. The laying of experiments is held in conjunction with the Institute of Agrobiotechnology and the Department of Agronomy of KalmSU. The main goal is to introduce innovative agricultural technologies into real production and at the same time provide high-quality practical training for future agricultural specialists.
