Kalmykia increases the pace of housing construction with the support of the federal center

The head of Kalmykia Batu Hasikov held a meeting with the Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation Irek Faizullin. The main topic of discussion was the comprehensive development of the republican infrastructure and summing up the results of joint work.

During the dialogue, the parties touched upon the modernization of utilities and plans for further improvement of territories. Particular emphasis was placed on results in the housing sector. Since the beginning of this year, 67.7 thousand square meters of housing have been introduced in Kalmykia, and more than a thousand people have moved from emergency houses to new housing.

The readiness of the republic for the heating season also became the subject of a detailed discussion. Batu Khasikov assured that all work on the preparation of the heat supply complex is under the personal control of the authorities to ensure the comfort and safety of residents.

A positive outcome of the meeting was the recognition of the region’s successes at the federal level. Three initiatives of Kalmykia won the XI Contest for creating a comfortable urban environment. Among the best projects are the “Tulpan Square” in the village of Yashalta, the Buddhist Park “Valley of Stupas” in Small Derbets and the territory “Oasis in the Steppe” near the house of culture in the village of Priyutnoye.

Batu Khasikov expressed gratitude to the Federal Ministry for assistance and noted that joint work with the center will continue to improve the quality of life in the republic.
