Kalmykia celebrates 140th anniversary of Nomto Ochirov

In Kalmykia, a number of solemn events dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Nomto Ochirov took place. An outstanding scientist, educator and public figure left a significant mark in the history of the republic.

In Elista, activists of the Young Guard organized a rally. The participants of the action proceeded from the first to the second building of KalmSU, where they laid flowers to the bust of Ochirov. The trip ended with a visit to the museum named after the scientist in school No. 8.

The central event of the day was a commemorative event at the bust of Nomto Ochirov. It was attended by representatives of the authorities, the scientific community, public figures and students. The participants emphasized his huge contribution to the development of Kalmyk science and culture, as well as the importance of preserving his memory for future generations.

Nomto Ochirov is considered one of the founders of Kalmyk linguistics. He explored the history and folklore of his native people. His scientific works are still in demand by specialists, and life serves as an example of selfless service to the homeland.
