An important stage begins in Kazan – the study of the transport system, which will determine the future development of urban infrastructure. This work was undertaken by the HSE Institute of Economics and Transport Policy under the leadership of Professor Mikhail Blinkin, a well-known expert in the field of transport. The study is expected to be completed by August 2027, according to Ildar Shakirov, deputy head of the executive committee.
The head of the Executive Committee Rustem Gafarov noted that decisions on public transport are especially important for Kazan residents. Therefore, the city attracted the best specialists for examination and modeling. Residents themselves are actively invited to join the process. The final model will be subject to public discussion.
Experts will study current routes, traffic congestion, connections to suburbs and the city’s development potential. The results will form the basis of updated programs for the development of transport and road traffic management.
Proposals are accepted through the online reception of the City Hall and by phone of the Transport Committee: 8 (843) 223-28-28.
