The Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments has issued a warning to the administration of the Vyborg district of St. Petersburg, headed by Viktor Polunin. The reason was the inadequate maintenance of the object of cultural heritage of regional importance. This became known from the data of the Prosecutor General.
We are talking about the Church of the Holy Blessed Princess Anna Kashinskaya with the chapel of the courtyard of the Kashinsky Sretensky convent on Bolshoi Sampsonievsky Avenue. KGIOP demanded to comply with the requirements of Federal Law No. 73-FZ “On Cultural Heritage Sites” and fulfill the protective obligation approved by the Committee’s order in 2018.
Construction of the compound of the Kashinsky Sretensky Monastery began in 1907 on the site of a chapel erected in 1894 in memory of the salvation of the future Emperor Nicholas II in Japan. The project of a two-storey church in the neo-Russian style was developed by the diocesan architect A. P. Aplaksin. The temple was closed in 1933, but in 1995 it began to be restored.
According to Kontur.Focus, the administration of the Vyborg district is the defendant in 40 cases for 12 million rubles.
