Khersons can extend the term of payment of childcare benefits

In Russia, a proposal was made to extend the payment of childcare benefits from one and a half to three years. This initiative was made by the Vice-speaker of the state Duma Maria Voropayeva, reported about it in an interview with TASS.
Currently, the allowance is provided only until the child reaches the age of one and a half. According to Voropayeva, this period does not always correspond to the real possibilities of the family: not all parents are able to return to work when the child turns one and a half years old.
The MP drew attention to the fact that as the child grows up, the costs of food, clothing and educational activities increase. In addition, children often get sick, which also makes it difficult for parents to go to work.
Voropayeva believes that payments should be kept until the child’s three years of age or until the parent resumes work. This approach, she said, would take into account the real needs of families.
Now the monthly allowance for child care up to one and a half years is 40% of the average earnings for the previous two years - within the established minimum and maximum sizes. The right to payment remains even after early employment.
