If you see in the village of Zhabinke, which is five kilometers from Glubokoye, a villager on a high stepladder in the middle of the garden, do not be surprised. This is Victoria Pashukevich trying to reach the top of his head. four-meter sunflower. This year, her husband and honeycombs turned into an experimental site with giant vegetables. We learned that the winners of the regional stage of the contest “Lord of the village” grow on the farmstead and why they do not think of themselves without the village.

The story of Victoria and Nikolai Pashukevich is a classic story about a return to the origins. They met as teenagers in the deep. Then I studied in Minsk and tried to build a career there. The couple quickly realized that no metropolis can replace the comfort of their own home. As a result, the Pashukevichs returned to their homeland, to the Glubok district. We rented an apartment in the district center, but the rural roots were stronger. The family council decided they needed a private house and land. The choice fell on Jabinka. The place, they say, is great.
- For a city dweller, the phrase "to hit the forest with your hand" is a metaphor, and for us - a reality - nods with a smile towards the age-old pines of Vic. - Five minutes and I'm on the edge. Once I found a place where there were 20 pods in a row! This season the forest spoils: berries and mushrooms are plenty.
The house in which the family lives, they got far from glossy. The site resembled a jungle of bush and wild plum. It was lucky that the modest, verbose Nikolai Pashukevich, who works as a mechanic in the branch of "Glubok Electric Networks" of RUE "Vitebskenergo", has golden hands. Slowly he does everything himself, of course, not without the support of his wife. First they cleared the thickets, leveled the ground, sowed the lawn. Next year, they plan to cover the facade of the house.
In the yard of Pashukevich you can see old wheels from carts, details of spinning wheels ... Nicholas turned them into the original decoration of the site.
- It is a pity, there is not enough time for everything, but there are ideas - at least spare, the head of the family jokes.

Some of the “exhibits” are purely exclusive. For example, the former disk harrow from the tractor by the efforts of Nicholas became an unusual pan-mangal. Heavy metal holds the heat perfectly. Victoria tells about the family tradition: – In winter, we will clean the snow, make the children a slide of snowdrifts, and ourselves – to the fire. We take our "disc" directly to the street and fry dranics. The children ride, we cook, and then we have dinner together in the freezing air. Here it is, rural romance, which is not exchanged for anything! Before the decree, first with her eldest son Andrey, and now with her two-year-old daughter Ksyusha Victoria worked as an ecologist at the Glubok dairy plant. I have always looked at nature with a professional eye. But it is one thing to protect the environment and quite another to grow something that does not fit in an ordinary garden wheelbarrow. It all started with the pumpkin of the world’s largest variety “Atlantic giant”. At first, I just wanted to grow an impressive fruit, says Vika:
- The debut happened last year, but then I did not know the nuances, and the result was not surprising. I'm serious about this now. She prescribed seeds from cool pumpkin growers from Moscow - participants of the Russian National Harvest Championship and the Battle of the Giants contest. Imagine, the “mother” of my pumpkin weighed 402 pounds!

Victoria candidly admits that this year has been a school of mistakes. The largest specimen, which she put in a makeshift pumpkin house, pulled 75 kg. Next season, he hopes to swing for a vegetable that will make the whole area gasp.
Next to the pumpkins swung sunflowers four meters high. This is a variety of “titanium”, the feature of which is in huge “caps”, says the hostess, standing on a stepladder: – The largest cap we had was a circumference of 130 centimeters, but most of all I was struck by the “many-headed” sunflower. Like a fabulous miracle, he constantly released new inflorescences from the middle. In the end, we counted more than 35. The Pashukeviches do not stop there. This spring, for example, purple potatoes were planted for a sample, most of the harvest was left for seeds. Melons ripened in the greenhouse. One of them pulled three kilograms. It was eaten instantly, right off the bed. Victoria grows and a fragrant sea of different colors. Recalls how this year, together with colleagues from the Glubok Dairy Cannery, she participated in the district holiday "Paints of Summer":
- Flower composition from our company on the theme “Belarusian woman” was “woven” including from brought from my garden velvets, zinni, host, amaranths. For me, this is not just a job, but a way to show how beautiful our native land is. Inspiring others Such an active and hardworking family as Pashukevich in the area could not fail to notice. When offered to participate in the contest “Lord of the village”, Victoria agreed immediately: maternity leave required new emotions. My husband had to talk a little. As a result, the family reached the Republican final in Alexandria. Vika recalls:
- It was powerful! The husband mowed and potatoes at speed ter, and played the Bayan. Of course, I tried to keep up, for example, the fastest woven wreath of flowers. We got an interesting competitive experience and, I think, presented Vitebsk region and our native Goluboye with dignity and patriotism.

Victoria Pashukevich is not only an active mother and gardener-virtuoso, but also a blogger. The name of her channel in TikTok sounds simple and warm: "About what I love." This sincerity is rewarding: about five thousand followers for a blog about rural life is a solid result.
- Most people come to “country” content, shares Vika. - Showing me how I tie tomatoes, what I feed. It would seem that the usual troubles, but people lack just that – real, alive.
A furor in the network made her video ... about garden pests. Video of how the larva of the May beetle attempted to harvest strawberries, scored ... 1.4 million views.
In the frame of the blog Victoria often appears seven-year-old son Andrew. If the little assistant is in the mood, he gladly becomes a co-author of his mother's forest and garden reports.

For Victoria Pashukevich and her family, life in the countryside is not just content for social networks, but conscious choice and daily joy. The family appreciates the rural way of life for undeniable advantages. Here, children have a space for playing in the fresh air and an environmentally friendly environment, and adults enjoy peace, tranquility and the opportunity to live in harmony with nature, forgetting about the bustle of the city.
Victoria admits that she shares the everyday life of country life sincerely and with her soul: I love life in the countryside. And if my videos about this inspire someone to buy a house and change the noisy city to a rural idyll, I will only be happy. naumova@sb.by
