Cyberpolice revealed to Tula a new trick scammers with investments
Fraudsters use promises of high returns to convince citizens to invest in allegedly promising financial instruments

Fraudsters use promises of high returns to convince citizens to invest in allegedly promising financial instruments. One of the common ways of deception is the offer of quick earnings on investments.
Attackers place ads on the Internet in which they offer to receive additional income through investments in cryptocurrency, shares of large companies or other assets. Potential investors are promised attractive profits and are offered to transfer money to the specified details.
However, such proposals may hide a fraudulent scheme. The deposited funds are not invested in the declared financial products, but transferred to the accounts of criminals.
The risks were warned by the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Office for the Organization of Combating the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The agencies urged citizens to be wary of promises of record earnings and not trust offers that guarantee high profits.
Earlier, “MK in Tula” reported on the detention of a gang of ransomware in the Tula region. Employees of the FSB together with the police and Regardie conducted a large-scale operation. The group included four men aged 29-36.
