The State Archive of Film and Photo Documents is preparing a new format for accessing its materials. On October 5, the director of the archive Andrei Gonchar told at a press conference in the National Press Center of Belarus, sb.by correspondent reports.

According to him, interest in visual information is growing today, so the archive seeks to make newsreels more accessible to viewers.
- Over the past four years, we've created a number of documentaries that are now available in theaters, online, on YouTube. We work with schools, with museums, we hold various events. We are currently working on a streaming channel. We hope that by the end of this year or early next year it will be launched. There will be a newsreel, which is stored in our archive, said Andrey Gonchar.
In 2026, the State Archive of Film and Photo Documents celebrates its 85th anniversary. This year, archive newsreels were presented in more than 22 cities of Belarus. In addition, for the new exposition of the National Historical Museum, more than ten hours of materials were transferred, including previously unseen materials.
