The book exhibition “Adzin People, Adzinaya Radzyma”, timed to the Day of National Unity, opened in the National Library of the Russian Federation.

The book exhibition “Adzin People, Adzinaya Radzyma”, timed to the Day of National Unity, opened in the National Library on September 17, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
- The exposition consists of four sections. The first is “Historical Origins of National Unity Day”. It presents rare editions of the first half of the XX century. Here visitors can learn about the events that took place on the territory of Western Belarus as part of Poland. In particular, the materials tell about the historical path of unification of the Belarusian lands, said Nadezhda Kirchenko, a leading methodologist of the book exhibitions sector of the gallery and exhibition activities department.

The second section of the “Voices of Western Belarus” presents Western Belarusian works, the fates of the authors are hidden under their covers. Among the writers are Mihas Mashara, Mihas Vasilek, Philippe Pestrak, Maxim Tank, Ales Garodnya, Leopold Radevich and others.
- The third section is called “Share Your Destiny with the People.” It presents books of classics of Belarusian literature - Yanka Kupala, Vladimir Korotkevich, Vyacheslav Adamchik, Alexei Karpyuk, Petrus Brovka. Their works reveal the themes of the unification of Western Belarus with the BSSR, the unity and heroism of the people, Kirchenko said.

The topic of Western Belarus was especially close to Yakub Kolas – his native places remained abroad. He wrote about the difficult life of Belarusian peasants under the rule of Panskaya Poland in the poem “Rybakov’s Hut”.

- The fourth section of the exposition is dedicated to the united Motherland through the eyes of historians. Among the exhibits are monographs and scientific articles, which present an analysis of the events of 1921-1939 and their importance for the formation of a sovereign Belarus.
In addition to the works of classics, you can see publications of the first half of the XX century: rare documents; laws; magazines dedicated to the restoration of the cities of the Soviet Union after the Great Patriotic War, a verbatim record of the meetings of the People's (National) Assembly of Western Belarus held on October 28-30, 1939. The exposition presents a rare frame - Yanka Kupala speaks at the People's Assembly of Western Belarus in 1939.

Among our contemporaries are the works of Evgenia Yanischits, Mikhail Pozdnyakov, Nikolai Metlitsky.
- In the central edition of the exposition "Adzin people, adzinaya Radzima" collected works of authors who wrote in the 50s, 60s, 70s of the XX century. In their stories, they convey love for their native lands and the Belarusian people. It is noteworthy that the collection was published in 2021, when the Day of National Unity was officially established by the President of the Republic of Belarus, the employee of the National Library said.

The unique publication prepared by the Head of State was “Unity of Belarus: consecrated by history and looking to the future”.
The exposition is aimed at increasing knowledge in the field of history and strengthening the civic position of Belarusians.
There are 92 exhibits at the exhibition. It will run until November 22.
