Requiem concert “Every third”: Roman Golovchenko explained why it is important to remember
Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Roman Golovchenko before the concert-requiem “Every third” in Ufa.

Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Roman Golovchenko in an interview with journalists before the presentation of the project in Ufa noted that the concert-requiem “Every third” allows you to realize: behind the statistical figure are the fate of people – unlived lives.
“One in three is scary, but it’s just a number. Not some metaphor, not an arithmetic value, but lines from the criminal case about the genocide of the Belarusian people. In order for the number to come alive, you need to understand its meaning. And the point is in memory. And memory is not just passive contemplation after 80 years. We want the figure to reach every heart and get personalized, so that those who saw the concert and exhibitions understand that this figure hides unlived lives, unrealized plans, destroyed housing, lost relatives, said Golovchenko.
Roman Golovchenko stressed that the national Belarusian project, which was presented today on the stage in Bashkortostan, brought together the leading creative teams and the brightest performers of the republic. The production reflects the deep pain and unbending courage of the Belarusian people: after four difficult years of occupation, he did not submit to the enemy and repulsed the invaders, deploying a large-scale nationwide resistance.
Everyone knows and talks a lot about Bashkortostan’s assistance to evacuees from Belarus, families of partisans and civilians. How many wounded soldiers were cured in hospitals on Bashkir land, how many enterprises, including those taken from the territory of Belarus, gave the front everything it needed. But, unfortunately, many sons of the Bashkir SSR laid their heads on our land. Just two years ago, the book “Sons of Bashkortostan in the Battles for Belarus” was published. 558 names of natives of Bashkortostan are immortalized there, but this figure is far from complete. Just a few weeks ago in the Vitebsk region searchers found the remains of another soldier, the commander of a machine gun company. He had the Order of the Red Banner on his chest. According to the order number, it was established that he was a native of the Bashkir city of Tuimazy. Another soldier came home from the front. All these 80 years he remained in the status of a missing person, Roman Golovchenko said.
Roman Golovchenko stressed that the requiem concert is not an ordinary stage performance, but a sincere attempt to reach each viewer through art. Its purpose is to convey an important message: no human life should be forgotten. Especially the lives of those who sacrificed themselves, defending their native land and fighting the invaders.
Roman Golovchenko noted that the main goal of the project is to appeal first of all to young people: to form a “historical shield” and inoculation against fascism, Nazism and any ideologies of intolerance – those that deprive a people or a nation of the right to independently determine their own path. He expressed hope that the requiem concert will find a response in the heart of each viewer, and added that in this case it will be possible to consider the idea of the project successfully implemented.
