Kostomuksha Central Library to become model library thanks to federal grant

The main library of Kostomuksha was among the winners of the competitive selection of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. In 2027, the institution will receive a subsidy of 15 million rubles for large-scale modernization. According to the district administration, the allocated funds will be used to bring the library to the modern model standard.

The renovation project includes not only the overhaul of all premises, but also a complete rethinking of the interior space. Significant replenishment of book collections and professional retraining of personnel are planned. The goal of the transformation is to turn the library into a comfortable and high-tech intellectual center, in demand among citizens of all ages.

This stage will be the final in a series of updates. Earlier, in 2024, with the participation of the Karelian Okatysh company and the Dobrota of the North Foundation, the roof of the building was repaired. In 2025, thanks to the national project “Family”, capital works were carried out in the premises and new furniture was purchased.
