Kostroma streets greened a thousand new trees and shrubs

In Kostroma, the autumn greening campaign is coming to an end: the city is actively transformed, replenished with new green spaces. Experts try to have time before the onset of cold weather, so that young plants have time to take root before winter. According to the improvement department, 1,163 trees and shrubs have already been placed in public areas and along city roads.

The transformation is noticeable in different parts of the city. In the park "Jubilee" on Golubkov Street now please the eye of apple trees, willows, cherry, turf and hydrangea - this combination makes the space expressive in different seasons. At the intersection of Shagov and Skvortsov streets, 143 lilac bushes were planted - and these are not just the same type of plants, but different varieties that will bloom in turn, prolonging the decorative effect. Square "Shield and Sword" decorated tui and several varieties of lilacs, creating a cozy, chamber corner. At the monument to Yuri Dolgoruky appeared maple, mountain pine and different types of hydrangeas - the composition turned out to be balanced and picturesque. On Mira Avenue, 135, young maples and fir trees were planted: these breeds fit well into the urban landscape and over time will create a pleasant shadow.

The Clean City team also planted shrubs. In the area of the Fish Rows there were bushes of the bladder crop - unpretentious and spectacular plant, which looks good in the urban environment. At the bowing cross on Ostrovsky Street now grow arrows and lilacs: these cultures not only decorate the space, but are also familiar to the local climate. Along the key streets – Lenin, Shagov, Kozuev, Industrial, Kommunars, Solonitsa, as well as on the Kineshem highway, Mira Avenue and River Avenue – young lindens, maples and mountain ash appeared. Such breeds are traditionally considered successful for the city: they are stable, durable and create a comfortable environment for residents.

Work has not yet been completed: the gardeners have to finish two important sites. Lime trees are now being planted in Botnikovsky Square – they will replace old, emergency trees that posed a potential danger. In the near future, another 6 bush lindens will decorate the street Deputy.

A total of 1,188 seedlings are planned to be planted in Kostroma during the autumn season. When selecting plants, specialists focused not only on appearance, but also on practicality: they chose species with high survival in urban conditions. Important criteria were resistance to gas contamination, soil salinization and other adverse factors characteristic of the metropolis. They also considered how easy it is to form a tree crown, which is important for safety and aesthetics in urban areas.

The landing was carried out in compliance with all technical standards. Specialists carefully watched that the trees were located at a safe distance from underground utilities and lighting supports. They also took into account the illumination of the areas and the composition of the soil – these factors directly affect how successfully the plants will take root. For the new plantations will be organized regular care by the MKU "Clean City".

In order for young trees to confidently survive the first year, they use special above-ground fasteners - stretch marks. They reliably fix seedlings in an upright position, protect against strong wind and help to form a regular, stable crown. This is a small but important detail that significantly increases the chances of plants to successfully develop.

Autumn landscaping works in Kostroma are part of the program of compensatory landscaping and the creation of new green areas. Such initiatives help to fill the lost plantations and make the city more comfortable. In addition, they meet the goals of the national project “Environmental Well-being”, aimed at improving the state of the environment and improving the quality of life of citizens.
