$53 million crash test: Presidential bridge in Ulyanovsk will be tested for strength

In Ulyanovsk plan to conduct a large-scale survey of the Presidential bridge across the Volga. To assess the technical condition of the structure are ready to send 53.1 million rubles. The relevant tender appeared on the public procurement portal.

The customer of the works is the federal state institution Volgo-Vyatskravtodor. The initial cost of the contract is 53.1 million rubles. The contractor will have to study the condition of the bridge structures and determine how they meet the requirements of further operation.

We are talking about a pre-project survey, which will provide up-to-date information about the state of the structure. The obtained data will become the basis for making decisions on the need for repair and preparation of relevant project documentation.

At the same time, the announcement of the purchase does not mean the start of repair work. At this stage, specialists should evaluate the technical characteristics of the object and identify possible areas that require additional attention.

The Presidential Bridge is one of the largest transport structures of the Ulyanovsk region. It connects the right-bank and left-bank parts of the regional center and is federally owned.

The bridge was opened in 2009 after more than two decades of construction. The length of the bridge is 5825 meters, and the total length of the bridge reaches about 12,970 meters.

The upcoming survey should help determine the scope of further work required to maintain the structure in proper technical condition.
