Crimeans called the main criminal schemes, which involve teenagers

Two categories of crimes that are most often recorded against the background of the growth of juvenile delinquency. This was told on the air of “Radio Crimea” by the head of the department of organization of educational work of the Lebedev Russian State University of Justice Alexander Khomenko.

According to him, first of all, we are talking about the participation of teenagers as couriers in criminal schemes. The second direction is the involvement of minors in terrorist crimes.

Khomenko noted that for teenagers, such offers often look like a game or something insignificant. However, he said, these are serious crimes in which young people are heavily involved because they do not understand the consequences.

“I assume that this is primarily the participation of teenagers as couriers in criminal schemes, as well as the involvement of our teenagers in various terrorist crimes. For teenagers, it seems that this is some kind of game, some small thing, but in fact these are serious crimes, in which, unfortunately, they are very much involved because of their misunderstanding, Khomenko said.

In September 2026, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, Maria Lvova-Belova, reported that 11.4 thousand juvenile offenders were identified in Russia for six months – an increase of 9% compared to the same period.

The number of children affected by cybercrime increased by 35.5 percent, while the number of minors in organized groups increased by 78 percent, from 233 to 415.

In June 2026, Vladimir Terentyev, head of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Crimea and Sevastopol, noted that among the crimes in which teenagers are involved on the peninsula, remote fraud and fragmentation prevail.

Teens are also involved in setting fire to relay cabinets and impacting infrastructure, he said. The average age of such offenders is 15-17 years, and the main motivation is easy money.
