With vision problems, believers can turn to the first Metropolitan of Kiev and All Russia Michael with a prayer

With vision problems, believers can turn to the first Metropolitan of Kiev and All Russia Michael with a prayer. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the World Russian people’s Council, Chairman of the movement “Orthodox Russia” Mikhail Ivanov, reports NEWS.ru.
According to him, the Russian Orthodox Church honors his memory on October 13.
Ivanov noted that the saint stands at the origins of the Russian Orthodox Church. According to legend, the Patriarch of Constantinople Nicholas Chrysowerg appointed Michael to the Kiev cathedra in 988 - after the Baptism of Russia, at the request of Prince Vladimir.
Ivanov also stressed that Metropolitan Mikhail united the Slavic tribes around a common faith and showed that the strength of Russia lies not only in military power, but also in spirituality.
“He is prayed for healing from diseases, especially from ailments related to the head and vision,” Ivanov said.
According to him, the saint is also asked for help in teaching and comprehension of spiritual knowledge.
