The Kremlin Palace named the winners of the All-Russian contest “Family of the Year – 2026”. Among the best are the Durakovs from the Dmitrievsky district of the Kursk region.
Governor Alexander Khinshtein said that Peter Nikolayevich and Svetlana Dmitrievna won the Golden Family nomination. They are married for 57 years, and together in life - more than 69: they know from the third grade, where they sat at the same desk. Back in the summer, the head of the region talked about these spouses in his Zen.
The Durakovs raised their son Sergey and daughter Natalia, both of whom became doctors. And now they help raise five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
The governor admitted that he was proud: the Kursk region showed the whole country such a family. In the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the contest gathered almost 12,000 families from all regions, and the Durakovs became an example of how love, work and loyalty turn into a real national value.
Khinshtein added that he knew this golden family personally: on the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty, he handed Durakov a badge “For merits in the upbringing of children”. According to him, this is another confirmation that the most important thing in life we create in the family.
The head of the region congratulated Pyotr Nikolayevich and Svetlana Dmitrievna with well-deserved recognition, thanked for the example, work and warmth that they carefully store and transmit further. I wish there were as many such stories in the region as possible.
