China’s tea culture dates back thousands of years and is an important part of the country’s cultural heritage, reflecting both deep traditions and the diversity of modern trends.
The speaker will be Alyona Velichko - the only certified testeter and judge of international tea championships. She has been researching tea culture for more than 20 years: she studied with specialists from Russia, China, Turkey, Korea, Vietnam, Georgia and India.
The organizers note that the lecture does not involve the tea ceremony itself, it requires more chamber conditions. However, examples of the ceremony can be seen on the screen in the presentation.
A library card is required to attend the event. Beginning at 17:30 at the Chinese Book Center (Rev. 207g).
