Anyone can take part in the action. To do this, you need to collect coins in the house, issued since 1997. Nomination is not important - you can bring rubles and pennies. And exchange them for paper notes or credit them to your bank account.
On the site Coin Week.rf there are addresses of banks and shops where you can make an exchange. View the list of reception points in advance. There are places where coins below 1 ruble are not accepted.
The same site has a coin calculator. It will help you calculate the total amount and even the weight of your collection.
According to open sources, during the same spring action in 2026, the Russians handed over about 55 million coins. Their total weight was 252 tons (almost 252 million rubles). And that little thing came back into circulation.
Coin Week has been held in Russia since 2023. People bring their little change in a variety of containers: in bags, plastic containers, bottles, three-liter cans. Most often, coins of 1, 2, 5 and 10 rubles were handed over. They account for more than 85 per cent of the total.
And it is needed, by the way, to issue change in stores and so that the state does not spend money on minting new coins. And by the way, if you decide to exchange your coins on a normal day, then banks can charge a fee for it. And during the “coin week” the exchange is made without commission.
