Lipetsk zoo reported to deputies: benefits, education and plans for a new complex
Activities of the Lipetsk Zoo for 2025-2026 were discussed at a meeting of the City Council Commission on Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs

The activities of the Lipetsk Zoo for 2025-2026 were discussed at a meeting of the City Council Commission on Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs. Director of the institution Alexander Osipov told the deputies about the current work and prospects.
Answering the question of the parliamentarian Alexander Gorbunov about the current benefits, the head of the zoo listed the categories of visitors who can take advantage of the preferential entrance. Among them are large families, families of SVO participants, pensioners, students and disabled people. According to Osipov, 23.4% of the total number of guests visited the zoo free of charge, and by the end of the year this figure, he expects, will approach 25%.
Deputies were also interested in plans to expand the territory. The director stressed that the minimum standards for keeping animals in the institution have been met, but the city needs a new zoo with more opportunities to create better living conditions. Work in this direction, Osipov assured, is carried out within the limits of available resources.
At the end of the meeting, the elected representatives thanked the director and staff for their work. Parliamentarian Pavel Rukhlin addressed the head with words of gratitude, noting that the employees live their own business, thanks to which the zoo is developing and getting better every year.
The deputies stated: Lipetsk Zoo remains one of the favorite places of recreation of citizens, conducts educational work and contributes to the conservation of rare species of animals. The city council expressed hope that plans to create a new zoo will receive support, and the team will continue to develop the institution.
