President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated employees and veterans of the Ministry of Energy on the 25th anniversary of its formation, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency reports with reference to the press service of the Belarusian leader.

This day became an important milestone in the development of Belarusian statehood. You were entrusted with the work on the organization of reliable provision of the country with energy, which is one of the components of national security, Alexander Lukashenko said.

According to the President, for a quarter of a century, the domestic energy sector has changed dramatically: generating capacities and grid infrastructure have been updated, the gas and fuel industries are developing. He stressed that the historic decision was the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, which contributed to strengthening the sovereignty of the state.

Ah. Alexander Lukashenko noted that the professionalism and responsibility of the Ministry’s employees are behind all these achievements, who not only successfully solve urgent tasks, but also develop the energy strategy of the republic for decades to come.

- I address special words of gratitude to veterans whose work laid a solid foundation for the energy system of independent Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko added.

The President wished good health, prosperity and new achievements for the sake of the future of his native country.
