President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko went on a working visit to Turkmenistan, where he will take part in a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency reports.

The leaders of the countries will discuss cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which turns 35 this year.
According to BelTA, Alexander Lukashenko, in his speech at the meeting, will express the position of the Belarusian side on topical topics of the CIS activities, as well as on the potential and future prospects of this international association.
The agenda of the meeting includes more than a dozen and a half issues. They include social development and quality of life, transport connectivity of the CIS, joint work in the information space, cooperation in law enforcement, preservation of historical memory.
The meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State will be held on October 9 in the territory of the national tourist zone of Turkmenistan "Avaza". A number of cultural events are planned with the participation of the leaders of the countries and other high guests of the summit. Among them is a gala concert of masters of culture and arts representing different countries of the Commonwealth. Belarus will be represented by the famous ensembles “Koroski” and “Songs”.
