President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received a report from the Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky on September 21, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency reports with reference to the press service of the Belarusian leader.

- Customs is primarily a budget. I am informed that during this year, despite certain difficulties, you have even added almost 3.5% to last year’s level. That's a good stature. Nevertheless, I would like to hear what problems are, the Head of State noted.

Ah. Lukashenko also drew attention to the continuing economic pressure from the European Union and the West as a whole. In this regard, there is a reorientation of trade flows to the East. The President asked how successfully the tasks in this direction are being solved.

The Prime Minister and the Government informed the Head of State that Belarus has successfully managed to reorient itself to the East. This is evidenced by recent negotiations with the Americans. Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko announced the supply of Belarusian potash fertilizers to the United States. At the same time, he recalled that it is impossible to supply large volumes to the Americans, since the products produced have already been contracted for this year. Even if you want to enter other Western markets, there are no free volumes, the Head of State noted.

Another issue related to the introduction of Russia’s system of confirmation of waiting for goods (POT).

- How are we affected by the measures taken by the Russian Federation to protect its market, the so-called SPOT? In general terms, of course, I am following the situation and I am informed that you have managed to establish good relations with Russia in terms of introducing these measures and that our carriers are not experiencing any serious problems. This is good, the Belarusian leader stressed.

Ah. Alexander Lukashenko also asked Orlovsky how the customs infrastructure works in the eastern and western directions and what, perhaps, should be done to improve the efficiency of this work.

The head of the State Customs Committee reported to the President how commodity flows are formed at the border in the current situation.

- Currently, 85% of all Belarusian exports and imports for Belarusian enterprises are in the eastern direction. Especially China and other Asian countries. Of course, the Russian Federation, too, the chairman of the BelTA State Customs Committee said.

Separately, V. Orlovsky dwelled on the receipts of payments to the state budget. He noted that an increase of almost 3.5% was recorded in eight months. In September, the growth rate is still at 5.2%.
