President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will pay a working visit to Turkmenistan on October 8-9. This was reported to the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency in the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The main purpose of the trip will be participation in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The event is timed to the 35th anniversary of the organization.
During the summit, the leaders of the countries will discuss cooperation within the CIS. Alexander Lukashenko in his speech at the meeting will express the position of the Belarusian side on topical topics of the Commonwealth, as well as on the potential and future prospects of this international association.
The agenda of the meeting includes more than 15 issues. The participants will focus on social development and quality of life, transport connectivity, joint work in the information space, cooperation in law enforcement and preservation of historical memory.
