False employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs lured from a resident of the Ivanovo region 700 thousand rubles

Another case of telephone fraud was recorded in Kineshem district. The duty unit was addressed by a 72-year-old resident Navolok, who gave the scammers 700,000 rubles.

The scheme of deception turned out to be classic: scammers called the pensioner, introduced themselves as security forces and announced an attempt to unauthorized access to his savings. To "save" the money, the victim was instructed to collect the cash and hand it over to the courier. The trusting man fulfilled all the requirements and in the evening gave a large sum to an unknown person near his entrance.

Now the investigating authorities have opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. True law enforcement officers never call asking for money to be transferred or handed over for their “safety.”.
