Magnetic storm October 12: the most dangerous clock falls in the morning
On Monday, October 12, 2026, a geomagnetic storm will decline, but the Earth’s magnetosphere will still remain excited and unstable

According to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy IKI RAS and ISZF SB RAS, the first half of the day on October 12 will be the most difficult. At night and in the early morning hours – from 3:00 to 9:00 – the intensity of the oscillations will reach the level of a weak magnetic storm of class G1 (about 5-5.5 points on the Kp index).
Near noon, the onslaught of solar plasma will begin to weaken noticeably, dropping to 3-4 points. After 15:00, the geomagnetic background over Novosibirsk will finally stabilize, and the probability of repeated strong blows before the end of the day will decrease to 36%.
Despite the fact that the storm is classified as weak, weather-dependent Novosibirsk may feel unwell, especially against the background of the morning peak of activity. During these hours, causeless fatigue, mild headaches, mood swings and jumps in blood pressure are possible. Doctors recommend reducing the level of physical and emotional stress, limiting the use of coffee and strong tea, drinking more clean water and taking time for quiet walks in the fresh air.
Earlier, MK in Novosibirsk reported what the weather will be this week.
