Residents of the region are waiting for a geomagnetic storm. The probability of a magnetic storm astrophysics is estimated at 80%
The cause was 2 powerful ejections of solar plasma, recorded on October 6 after a series of outbreaks of class M. Clouds of plasma move towards the Earth at a speed of about 560 km / s.
According to scientists, the storm will be mild or moderate – from G1 to G2. According to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy OF Sciences, the peak of activity will occur on Friday evening. The Kp-index will begin to grow rapidly and will reach 5 points by 6 pm. The recession is expected no earlier than 6.00 the next day.
The main phase of instability will last 10-12 hours. The total disturbance of the geomagnetic field can persist for up to 2 days.
On Saturday, October 10, the geomagnetic activity index will remain at 4.2 points, gradually decreasing during the day to 2.3 points. The situation will fully stabilize only by the evening of October 11.
