Solar activity has increased significantly in recent days
On the eve of the night of October 7, the KP-index was set at 3 points out of 9 possible. According to the portal “Gizmeteo”, such geostrikes will continue with the onset of early morning. In the coming hours, the geomagnetic environment will remain stable.
By noon, the KP index will drop to 2 points. Such geo-attacks will be observed until the end of the day. No magnetic storm is expected on October 7.
The index of flash activity at the end of October 6 was 5.7 points. Specialists of the laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences emphasized that during this time, astrophysicists recorded 7 emissions of weak power energy on the Sun and another 2 - of medium power (they were assigned a class M).
This spike in solar activity is notable because at least 2 large clouds of plasma have been ejected toward Earth. Although the explosions on the Sun were the strongest in the last month, the absolute level of outbreaks is characterized by experts as moderate. The probability of a magnetic storm on October 6 is estimated at 7%.
The solar wind speed reached 437 km / s (normal). Indicators of interplanetary magnetic field induction and solar flux density are within normal limits.
