According to the official forecasts of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the IKI RAS and ISZF SB RAS, in the morning of October 14, Novosibirsk will face the residual influence of the geomagnetic surge that took place on the eve. The index of geomagnetic activity (Kp-index) in the morning and around noon will balance within 3-4 points, which qualifies as small disturbances.
In some periods, short-term jumps to a critical level of 5 points are possible (a weak magnetic storm of the G1 level), provoked by the passage of the Earth through the dense plume of the solar plasma.
At the same time, a protracted storm in the metropolis is not predicted - by the evening the activity will fade away, and the Kp index will drop to a comfortable 2 points.
Experts warn: against the background of a sharp cooling and a general weakening of the magnetosphere, weather-dependent citizens may experience headaches, blood pressure drops, lethargy and causeless fatigue. To minimize the impact of space, on October 14, it is better to reduce physical and emotional stress, give up excess coffee, drink more clean water and take planned medications on time.
According to the forecasts of astrophysicists, since October 15, the Siberian region is waiting for a long period of geomagnetic calm.
