On October 11 (Sunday), at 15:00, a master class “Mastery of manners” will be held, dedicated to the traditional technique of cube typing on fabric. This “MK in Pskov” was reported in the press service of the Pskov Museum-Reserve.
Participants will get acquainted with the ancient method of ornamentation of textiles: learn how they used to manually apply drawings using wooden stamps (manners) and natural dyes.
The program includes a demonstration of textiles from the museum funds, tissue samples at different stages of cubic dyeing, as well as rare printed publications of the early XX century with recipes for coloring compounds. In the practical part, each participant will make a textile souvenir or a shopping bag in the technique of horse-plating, using carved wooden stamps. The cost of the ticket depends on the selected product.
