Medical service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia - 105 years

October 12 is the Day of medical service of the MIA of Russia. Departmental medicine has its history since 1921 - then the first "reception rooms" appeared as part of the police departments to help the personnel, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Pskov region told "MK in Pskov".

Currently, 120 medical and sanatorium-resort organizations work in the system of departmental health care. Assistance is received by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Regardie, SFS, Emergencies Ministry, FSIN, as well as their family members and pensioners. Up to 200 thousand patients undergo inpatient treatment annually, and up to 15 million medical visits are recorded in polyclinics.

The medical institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs employ 24 doctors of medical sciences and 398 candidates of medical sciences. 184 doctors were awarded state awards: 124 of them are the title of Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, 11 - Honored Health Care Worker of the Russian Federation. At the same time, every third doctor has the highest qualification category.

This year, two institutions celebrated anniversaries: the Salyut sanatorium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia celebrates its 100th anniversary, and the Central Polyclinic No. 1 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia - its 80th anniversary. During the celebrations, employees received departmental awards and valuable gifts.

The priorities of the service remain improving the availability and quality of medical care, improving the health of the attached contingent, as well as developing the material and technical base and human resources of institutions.
