The Ministry of Health reports that after the order to close the Tel Aviv Medical Center on September 28, the district doctor of the Tel Aviv District decided to partially resume the surgical activities of the institution.
As part of the partial repeal of the closure order, the medical center is only allowed to conduct operations that are part of the state basket of medical services. Aesthetic surgery is still prohibited.
The decision to partially lift the restrictions was taken after the elimination of significant violations, as well as the receipt of obligations from the management of Medica Tel Aviv to implement additional corrective measures.
The order to close the medical center was issued following a surprise inspection by the Ministry of Health.
During the inspection, cases of medical procedures exceeding the established professional powers and violation of mandatory requirements were revealed, as well as other shortcomings in the organization of medical activities and work processes.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that it takes extremely seriously any violations of established rules and limitations of professional authority aimed at providing safe medical care.
The ministry will continue to use all powers and tools at its disposal to protect patients’ health and safety.
