The bear was shot in the botanical garden of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. This was reported in the Agency of forestry and hunting of the Sakhalin region.

According to the Agency, the animal has previously been noted in the area of the garden and visited its territory. Experienced bear hunters from the district task force were involved in the operation.

The bear entered the premises the night before. The Botanical Garden is closed to the public. The operation to eliminate the beast went on in the evening.

Earlier in Krasnoyarsk for the week received almost 90 signals about bears. Two dangerous predators were also shot.
