MelSU and the State Duma: the vectors of development of the university until 2035 are planned

State Duma Deputy Alexei Tikhomirov visited Melitopol State University and held a working meeting with Rector Andrei Svistunov. The parties discussed the development strategy of the university until 2035, paying special attention to training personnel for key sectors of the region - agriculture, pedagogy, energy and IT.

The focus was on plans for the development of a university engineering center and a center for collective use – they should become a research and production base for enterprises of the Zaporozhye region.

Alexei Tikhomirov stressed that it is important to build training programs taking into account the real needs of employers: to include practice on sites, target contracts and early career guidance – so graduates will be able to immediately contribute to the development of the region.

Since a new profile committee has been formed in the State Duma, the study of joint initiatives has begun - in the near future, proposals are planned to be submitted to the parliament. The agreements reached are considered as the basis for the development of the university and the socio-economic growth of the Zaporizhia region.
