Milyaev instructed Davletshin to deal with the problems of the Tula AKM

AKM hockey club may not finish the current season in the Higher Hockey League due to financial problems, said well-known sports journalist and columnist Alexey Shevchenko. The Governor of the Tula region Dmitry Milyaev instructed his Deputy Alexei Davletshin to understand the situation. According to MK in Tula, this was discussed during the closed part of the operational meeting in the regional government on Tuesday, September 22.

Earlier, our publication wrote with reference to the observer Shevchenko that the main owner of the club is no longer able to pull the costs of the club alone, taking into account the current economic realities. At the same time, difficulties are allegedly observed in the entire system of the hockey club: AKM-Junior, Mikhailov Academy from the MHL and the sledge hockey team.

Everyone involved is worried about the fate of the club: from fans of the game to students and their parents. The head of the region instructed Davletshin to meet with all parties, discuss details, understand what is happening and find a solution.

AKM is the only professional hockey club in the region. In five years, he went from debutant of the VHL to silver medalist of the league. The Ice Palace on Aspen Hill has become a place where Tulaks can watch live hockey, and children can study in the academy with a clear career route: from children's groups through the MHL to an adult team.

If a club ceases to exist, it will not just mean closing down one team. This is the collapse of the entire vertical of Tula hockey - from kids on the ice to professionals in the VHL. To restore such a system from scratch - years and millions of rubles.

AKM is a private club built on the money of a private investor, not a state structure. One of the region’s major holdings took the brunt of the financial burden, with the region providing support at the start.
