A 42-year-old previously repeatedly convicted citizen who evaded payment of alimony for the maintenance of a minor was sentenced.

A 42-year-old previously repeatedly convicted citizen, who evaded payment of alimony for the maintenance of a minor son, told the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” in the Prosecutor’s office of Zavodsk district.
The defendant has a 16-year-old son who lives with his mother after the divorce. According to the court decision, since December 2015, the defendant is obliged to pay monthly alimony to the woman for the maintenance of a minor child, but did it irregularly, in connection with which the debt was formed. Employees of the enforcement department repeatedly warned the man about responsibility, but he did not give their words meaning.
As a result, another criminal case was opened against the Minsk citizen. Guilt in the court hearing defendant fully admitted.
- The accused is not officially employed anywhere, he was previously twice brought to criminal responsibility for committing similar crimes, said Yanina Verkhusha, senior assistant prosecutor of the Zavodsky district. The court found him guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 174 of the Criminal Code ("avoidance of parents from the maintenance of children or from reimbursement of expenses spent by the state for the maintenance of children who are or were on state support"), and imposed a punishment of two years of restriction of freedom with referral to an open-type correctional institution.
