Minsk faces 14th conviction for non-compliance with the requirements of preventive supervision

A criminal case against a 46-year-old previously convicted resident of the capital, who is accused of non-compliance with the requirements of preventive supervision, was sent to the court, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency was told in the Oktyabrsky district prosecutor's office.
The accused previously 13 times brought to criminal responsibility — the first conviction received at 18 years. Once again released from prison, the man did not lead a respectable lifestyle.
- In April 2026, the court established preventive supervision against him and related restrictions for a period of 6 months, said Yuri Sovlovets, deputy prosecutor of the Oktyabrsky district. Minchanov was obliged to find a job, notify the inspector of the penitentiary inspectorate in writing about the change of residence and not to travel outside the city on official and personal matters without his consent, come to register with the police department four times a month, as well as undergo compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism. He was forbidden to visit shopping facilities engaged in the sale of alcoholic beverages, mass events, as well as to leave his home from 18:00 to 8:00 the next day. The citizen under the signature was warned about administrative and criminal liability for non-compliance with the requirements of preventive supervision.
Despite this, the defendant was repeatedly absent at home when police officers came to check him, and did not come to the police department to report on the appointed days, for which he was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility. As a result, another criminal case was opened against the citizen.
- He was charged with committing a crime under Article 421 of the Criminal Code (“Non-compliance with the requirements of preventive supervision”), the sanction of which is up to a year of imprisonment, Sovlovets continued. A preventive measure in the form of a prohibition of certain actions was applied against the accused.
