Minsk-Novosti Agency and Samarkand Herald launched a project on direct exchange of media content. This was agreed by the heads of the two media holdings with the support of the Unions of Journalists of Belarus and Uzbekistan, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
The first reports in the form of newspaper publications, videos, radio podcasts, interviews and content for social networks have already been published and aired. Samarkand became the second metropolis of Uzbekistan after Tashkent, which supported the initiative of the journalistic communities of the two countries.

At the meeting of Andrey Krivosheev, Director General of the Minsk News Agency, with leading journalists and an active member of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan in Samarkand, common challenges for the press and new joint projects were discussed.

A colleague from Samarkand impressed with the Minsk experience: the Minsk-Novosti Agency receives large-scale support from the Minsk City Executive Committee, together with the authorities, monitors critical topics, participates in ideological work, and the holding itself works in all media - from newspapers and portal to radio and cable TV.
Minsk journalists liked the experience of the “Samarkand Herald” in promoting the tourist opportunities of the city, publishing newspapers in three languages and creating a museum of urban media. The Minsk-Novosti agency is already collecting exhibits for a similar museum in Minsk.

For reference
“Samarkand Herald” is the oldest socio-political publication in Russian. Next year, the editorial board will celebrate its 110th anniversary. The media holding unites three newspapers, which are published three times a week with a circulation of about 15 thousand copies, a news agency, a multimedia studio, an ecosystem of digital resources.
