Leave the car – get a bonus: the week of mobility started in Minsk
On the morning of September 21, “vitamin points” will work in all districts of the city: there the participants will receive fruits and small gifts.
In Minsk, it is Mobility Week. Drivers are advised to abandon cars and opt for public transport, scooters or electric vehicles.
On September 21, the traditional action “To work on a bicycle” will be held. And on the Day without a car – September 22 – public transport for drivers is free.
Dmitry Shunkin, Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection: Various events are held in preschool institutions. I would like to note that the city itself is significantly invested in this problem, at the moment about 58% of public transport is electric transport. Electric buses, electric trains, subways. In addition, on September 21 in the morning, citizens who give up their iron horse will be able to visit the so-called vitamin points in all districts of the capital, where they will receive a delicious bonus and other small gifts.
Denis Livanovich, Acting Head of the State Administration of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee: The number of electric vehicles in the city of Minsk has increased compared to last year. At the beginning of the year, there were 8,000 fewer. In addition to those electric cars that are registered in the city, working suburbs, guests of the capital are already coming to us. Naturally, this transport in the city of Minsk is increasing daily.”.
The week of mobility will end with a 9-kilometer bike ride with the participation of the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Minsk City Executive Committee, enterprises and organizations. Start - from the parking lot of the hotel "Aqua-Minsk". Finish - Museum and Park complex "Victory". The participants will also lay flowers at the “Minsk – Hero City” stele.
