Moldovan police arrest citizens of six countries for crypto fraud

The police of Moldova conducted a large-scale operation in Chisinau, as a result of which five fraudulent call centers were eliminated. This was reported by the police inspectorate of the Republic.

According to the agency, law enforcement officers conducted 21 searches. During the operation, eight people were detained – citizens of Ukraine, Cameroon, India, Israel, Nigeria and Georgia.

They are suspected of operating fake cryptocurrency trading platforms, as well as involving dozens of people, including residents of the United States and Canada, in criminal activities under the guise of investment proposals.

According to the police, only one of the call centers created by the suspects appropriated about $ 2 million.

Lukashenko criticized Moldova for leaving the CIS.

Moldova is preparing to receive Ukrainian refugees in winter.
